Obama DHS worker, CNN analyst and Harvard professor Juliette Kayyem tweeted about a Wall Street Journal report of how the truckers have a blockade at the Ambassador Bridge on the border between Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario.

“The convoy protest, applauded by right wing media as a "freedom protest," is an economic and security issue now. The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks”

In the annals of exhibits of how laughably pathetic our self proclaimed “elites” are, this stands out. It also illustrates why if there are tasks that require wisdom and practical application of brainpower, people like Kayyem will be helpless. She has no idea how hard it is to change the tires of an 18 wheeler, because she is deeply privileged. She can barely see the workers protesting from the heights of her Ivory Tower.

America is a better place when we treat people like Kayyem with all the deference and respect they deserve, which is zero. The death of expertise in our country was a suicide, and until accountability is restored and fools are removed from places of power, it is best to remember who the clowns are. Those who were wrong on social science, criminology, epidemiology, climate science etc who have the humility to say “I was wrong and here is my best guess as to why and how I am working to do better “ are worth listening to. People who doubled down on idiocy as they condescend from below like Kayyem should be avoided.
