March 28, 2022: Judges 21:25 “Everyone did what was right in their own eyes”.

I didn’t watch the Oscars. I wasn’t interested until I heard about the fight between Chris Rock and Will Smith. Then I was puzzled that Rock could still stand if Smith threw a surprise punch at him. Then I found out it was a slap. Very honor culture! Chris Rock was mocking the medical condition his wife suffers with which is classless. Huh. So Will is laudable? Except he then was cursing and yelling and acting like a seated tough guy fool. Then he won for his excellent acting and gave a sad speech showing how deluded he is and how little guidance he can bring the world (blind leading the blind).

Earlier in the same show, another joke about his wife was made, that she approved of Will sleeping with one of the female comedians. This was a joke that Will and his wife laughed at and it touches on an open marriage they have discussed.

Our culture is completely broken. Honor culture can only exist around rules that are clear. You don’t joke about your wife’s infidelity and you would beat any man who would impugn her honor…unless she hosts a show where she asks people to listen to her discuss her “different choices”.

So yeah…Chris Rock was out of line. Will Smith was out of line. I am sad for all of them, and I hope they come to know the One who made them, the One who ordered the universe and prescribed what is in and out of bounds. When you nurture allowing people to define their own reality, encouraging the delusions of children and adults, you are left with no moral high ground, just stuck in a swamp of relativism judgment withholding. The impulse to judge is still quite strong, it is just unmoored from anything.

Kathy Griffin who was put off by the Secret Service checking on her death threats to the President was deeply upset that Will smacked Chris, because she is afraid she will be smacked…there is plenty of confusion in this world of gaslighting hypocrites whose morality is “whatever I think goes”. She enjoys calling for violence, unless it could be directed to her. She is an immoral fool.

Truth exists. We can know it. The Bible is True and the world is a very dangerous place when people live by whatever moral code they invent instead of walking in submission to the One who told us and showed us how to live.
