Wow.
Well I was wrong about Pennsylvania. Super sad there for me that one of the smartest people in the cycle, a West Point grad and Veteran who ran the largest hedge fund in the world lost by less than 1000 votes to Dr. Oz, a celebrity created and then opposed by Oprah. Fetterman entirely apart from his stroke is the least qualified Senator in my lifetime, a man whose fake rescue of a town that is still deeply broken happened while he was taking an allowance from mommy and daddy for most of his adult life.
The Florida theory will become more and more discussed I believe. Florida was very very close and then they cracked down on fraud in Dade County etc and now DeSantis won by 20 points.
Florida spent a ton on election integrity and excellent systems and with two time zones and a big population with loads of seniors they had results announced the night of the election. If only every state could be as well run in elections as Florida. Who thought that back in hanging chad era?
I think the big population shift will continue as people disgusted by their state leave it. Tennessee will increasingly be Galts gulch for more and more folks from NY and IL and CA and Florida and Texas will continue to see an influx as well. This shift along with gerrymandering means we will also see more polarization with far fewer competitive districts.
If the GOP wins the house as I still expect they will, they need to demand a new census. Tennessee was undercounted in a way that hurts our whole state and we shouldn’t wait until 2030 to fix it.
